The Moody Blues puppies from Tidelidee’s Cotons Norway

Tomorrow, my baby, my doggie Tarja is one year old, and of course we went shopping for birthday presents today! We went to a store called Petshop girls on Grünerløkka/ St. Hanshaugen/ Torshov and bought her a bed from Haute Pooch (real expensive, but worth its price) and a new collar. Tarja’s mother got four Coton de Tulear puppies the 26th of august 2006, they were all bought by loving "mothers" and named Tarja, Meelo, Lucifer and Satine. My cousin owns Meelo so we meet her a lot, Satine went to Denmark and Luficer to a woman in oslo. The funny thing was we actually met Luficer and his owner at petshop girls today, talk  about random…we’ve never met them before…

Style report from Finland

August 16, 2007

Oh home sweet home…I’m back from Finland! I’ve had 10 great, mostly sunny days in the south of Finland with the people I love, what could be better? The only thing I can think of is the shopping possibilites ;) Of course we didn’t experience the prime of what Finland had to offer of shopping, as we didn’t visit, Helsinki, but Turku has a great collection of shops too. However the only fashion related item I bought was a scarf on sale on Vero Moda. I visted H&M countless times, but I was unable of locating the great stuff I’ve seen in their catalogue. The Finnish fashion scene seem somewhat extreme to me, I think its what they call Nu Rave, but I’m not sure, they also have their fair share of Emo’s and such, as one of my friends puts it: "You’re going to Emoland my friend ;)" I don’t know what to call it, but there’s lots of colours, dyed hair, chipped nailpolish, fishnets etc etc etc Maybe it is as Oscar Wilde put it: "Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months."? I don’t know, there’s no such thing as good or bad style, style is something unique, and I daresay there’s quite a lot of unique finns!! :)

(my camera is broken, when I get pictures from Marie I might post some)

Going to Finland

August 5, 2007

I’m going to Finland tomorrow, or eh today, as the clock just tipped midnight. My grandmother is finnish so my grandparents has a summerhouse in her hometown, a habrourtown named Pargas. So there’s where I’m going with my bestfriend Marie and my family for the next ten days. Its been better weather over there than here this summer, so we’re hoping for sun! Hopefully we’ll do one day of shopping in the nearby city, Turku as Pargas hasn’t got much to offer when it comes to fashion. Anyways I would like to introduce the well known finnish design label Marimekko, I used to hate it, probably because my mother loved it so much and I had to spend hours in various Marimekko stores throughout my childhood. However looking at it now, and especially the fall 2007 collection, I’ve come to like it…See ya in 10 days!

Au revoir Montpellier

August 4, 2007

I’ve spent the last week in the south of France in Montpellier the capital of Languedoc-Roussillon, I love it there! I’ve been there once before, two years ago, and I just had to come back…It was supposed to be a beach holiday, but because of sunburns and some cloudy weather we only spent 3 out of 7 days at the beach. We arrived on friday afternoon, spending the rest of the day in the city. On Saturday we took the bus out to the beach Perols, and on Sunday to La Grande Motte. When Monday also arrived with sunny weather, we were too sunburnt to go to the beach, so we spent the day shopping and went to the beach Côte Plage on tuesday instead. Unfortunately wednesday and thursday offered cloudy weather so we stayed in the city, shopping even more before we headed home on friday morning.Unfortunately Perols beach was quite windy and blew sand into my camera, so I don’t have any photos of my own, but I found some on the net. I would also like to reckomend the hotel we stayed in! Normally people tend to wrinkle they’re noses at two stars hotels, but Hotel des Arts on Boulevard Victor Hugo, just by the town square Place de la comedie is among the better hotels I’ve stayed at, the had all I needed to a nice price, as well as charming personel. Although the weather dissaponited us this time, we’ll definitley be going back again, and again and again…
