New neighbours

August 26, 2008

Deserted hallways, the silence distrubed only by the occasional sound of crutches. It might sound like I live in an old folks home, my apartment building has until now seemed like a "retirement home for active seniors", but fear no more, the old goes of to actual retirement homes and the young move in. Throughout the past 6 months a young couple, a student and just a couple of weeks ago a single mother with two teenage sons and one hot carpenter son has moved in. I find myself pressing my eye to the fish eye on our door observing the activity in the hallway, happy to see new faces, at the same time they annoy me even more than any of the seniors.

The tales of the Otori

August 20, 2008

I’ve read A LOT this summer and I got a dose of fantasy lit through the trilogy of the Otori tribe, consisting of Across the nightingale floor, Grass for his pillow and Brilliance of the moon. If you, like me love anything fantasy or asian, I’d recommend this one! There’s also a prequel called The heavens net is wide and a fourth follow up named The harsh cry of the herron, I’ll certainly read those two too!

Twilight

August 9, 2008

Thought I’d might write something about the books I’ve read this summer. Starting with Twilight since I finnished that one first. I’ve long been reluctant to read these books. I’m not a huuuge fan of vampire literature, but this one was OK and I guess I’ll read the following three eventually. I feel the description of Isabella Swan fits me too, pale, clumsy…Love the cover photo, and I’m looking forward to the movie as well as I find vampire books better on the silver screen…I guess there’s no point in saying too much of the content, lots of people has read it already, and if you haven’t you probably will soon. I don’t want to spoil it…oh and Robert Pattison, playing Edvard in the movie is kinda hot
